Does Uh have Thanksgiving break? ›

Thanksgiving Holiday

The University of Houston will be closed Thursday, Nov. 25 and Friday, Nov. 26, 2021 for the Thanksgiving break. You can view UH 's full holiday schedule for 2021 and 2022 on the Human Resources website.

Semesters in US universities

Classes in the first semester usually begins in August and lasts until the end of December, including exams. The second semester runs from January/February to may-June. Winter vacation lasts 2-3 weeks, summer 10-12 weeks.

University of Houston is on a semester system. Semester systems are typically around 14-16 weeks long. They consist of 3 terms: Fall, Spring, and Summer.
