Just got the Dvd box set of the 4 Confessions films thats Window, cleaner, Holiday Camp, Pop performer & Driving instructor , great to see these again and as they were all filmed local to me , its good to spot tjhe locations, , in the Holiday camp we saw that Lewis collins was credited as one of the Rugby players, but couldnt find him in it,
Was trying to work out where the Holiday camp was filmed , its obviously not Margate, hastings etc with Trees & woodlands in background , my guess is the lake scenes were round the Borehamwood area , and the Lido was probably Rulslip, or Rickmansworth Agadome , and there seemed to be lots of scenes off A1 which is now full of shops and offices
Obviously people have forgotten these films as Years go by because in 2008, Robin Askwith put the Bucket used in window cleaner, up for acution on Ebay & only got £200 for it, when he put scripts up, he oonly got bid of £76.00 he didnt sell them
My boss at work, remembers when they filmed these in mid 70s, she was in her teens , and they all used to sneakl down to see if they could get on set, lots of youngsters used in bit parts, which she says was a laugh , she didnt but plenty of her friends did

Confessions of a Window Cleaner has the distinction of being the first X film I ever saw.
I was probably only about 10 at the time...we used to frequent a cinema in Rhyl, North Wales called the Astra. My friends family had a caravan on a site near there, and we would often watch kids films in the cinema, but they had about 3 screens, and one time we sneaked into the 'Confessions' screening.
Like a lot of 'sex' films made in the UK in the 70's, they were largely an extension of the Carry On movies, an emphasis on comedy and farce, lots of old english comedy actors from film and tv, and of course plenty of nudity but an almost complete absence of actual sex, as in intercourse. And what there was, was usually shot in a very unrealistic, highly comedic fashion.

Channel 5 opened with the all the Confessions films. Good fun. I've got most of the actual books.
Then followed with a Russ Meyer season. These films are PURE ART.
"Despite doing his best to exploit mammary glands, Meyer makes you see women and breasts with new respect. His movies make you like breasts and fear women".

Any famous actresses who appeared in the buffo ?
I'm sure Miss Lumley, Diane Keen and Linda Bellingham and even [ gasp ] Elaine Page have all had roles in Brit 1970's sexploitation films they'd rather forget about

Hammer FIlms also went topless (and became dire!). Wendy Padbury was briefly nude in Blood on Satan's Claw. Katy Manning was in a few dire romps, although not topless far as I know ...... (she posed with Daleks instead).

What a weird country this was in the 70's. Robin Askiwth was our biggest male sex-symbol.
Mind you, the lads had to make do with Pauline Fowler and Peggy Mitchell.

Not sure if you meant to post it that way , but just in case you did, Satans Claw is not a Hammer film.
And it was recently re-released as a superior anamorphic dvd although the bonus features from the earlier release are gone.
And its worth getting to see Linda Hayden nude,Gabrielle Drake got her awesome tits out in Au Pair Girls aswell as her muff.
Diane Keen got them out for Sex Thief.Linda Bellingham was also topless in one of The Sweeney films.
Seriously under rated actress who appeared in some real classic films and tv shows .
She's wasted on Loose Women but has joined Honor Blackman in the Horny Pensioners club.Look at her CV

Robin Askwith might have had something of an ugly mush and tragically shaggy hair, but he was a surprising fittie in the bod department and mercifully, the producers of these films were not bashful about allowing him as much nudity as his female co-stars. I wore out several pause and rewind buttons taping these films first off Sky and then C5 in the 90s, as a growing teenage homosexualist.

Jill gascoine (who later starred as Maggie forbes, in Gentle touch & Cats Eyes ) has several topless scenes in it, Diane Langton, and Linda Regan are seen rolling around the floor as the Climax sisters :rolleyes:) Both starred in 70s hits such as On the buses & Rag Trade there are also Quite a few beauties from Hammer films as well

for a great Robin Askwith film, try Horror Hospital. On the downside you get to see him in the most ghastly y-fronts, but on the good side he spends most of the film getting the cr@p beaten out of him, initially by a big, ugly transvestite
